Triangle Gimbap for Dinner

It just come to the point that I am sick of eating eggs and spam, its been my food since the last two days, so tonight I want  a change, I went to Family Mart to look for an instant meal but what is left is meatballs, I hate to say this but meatballs makes me sick as well, so the last resort is to buy gimbap to feed my hungry stomach and this is my dinner for tonight.

Hopefully I am not going to be hungry again in the middle of the night because I am also sick of of frying eggs and eating big serving of rice as if I am not going to sleep, two hours after 12 in the morning. Just wrapped these with gim (sea weed) and ready to eat. Yum!

Assorted Korean Donuts

Here’s a serving of donuts, I love these donuts because they are so sweet and in different flavor too,  the bigger one is like a sandwich donut with meat, onion, garlic and mayonnaise,  the other one is a red bean donut and of course my favorite, I don’t know donut (lol), because I don’t know what’s inside it is white paste and I like it.

Is it a Pudding or Not?

Simple things are being complicated when Pookie bear and I don’t agree with each other, we went to Kim’s Club Mart on Friday night, yes we are shopping in two super market and the dove body wash is in the other store. Anyway we bought two package of bulgogi for our grilled party (lol). I also bought bread for me, I choose these bread cake below, I called it pudding but Pookie bear don’t agree with me. He said it is not, it is baked that way, he don’t believed me when I told him it is really a pudding and it is made of old bread.  He said it is like a date loaf with raisins, the bread is all eaten but we are still consistent with our own belief.

Maybe we should ask the bakeshop so we’re going to agree to each other what is the name of this bread, which is impossible because I can’t imagine  how to explain it in the air that I am asking for the name of this bread.

Super Prime Pizza

There’s a lot of pizza place around us which took only 5-10 minutes but believed it or not but we went to E-mart which is 35 minutes far from us just to buy this slice of pizza and walked home again after wards.

Super Prime Pizza

Haha, actually we are looking for something other than pizza, we decided to walk to test how far is it because mostly we are taking a taxi as we don’t know the exact location of the shopping mall. So today it materialized, buying a pizza is just accidentally when we passed along  the pizza stall. I am so lucky to pick a different flavor huh?

Gimbap in Triangle Shape

Here’s a tray of my treats few weeks ago, gimbap and some chocolates. You know some of the gimbaps are spicy so I really need some sweets after eating a spicy one, I can’t tell what’s the flavor not until I open it because I can’t read Hangul. I love to eat gimbap today but when we visit Family Mart,  nothing has left maybe it is all sold out.

The flavor or other term varies to tuna, bugolgi, bugolgi hot and spicy, meat with kimchi, and many more.

Al Saba Restaurant: Persian or Indian/Pakistan Restaurant?

When we went to Bangladesh Embassy last Thursday we saw this restaurant at the other side  of the street where we are walking, what caught our attention is the word “Persian” so  Pookie bear told me we are going to eat on this place on Saturday which is today after our appointment with Doctor Kim.

When our ordered was served Pookie bear says it looks like Pakistan/Indian cuisine, even though I already ate these kind of cuisine I didn’t mind it because I don’t know what is Persian cuisine. Well tonight I have read one comment from Va, she also says it doesn’t looks like Persian cuisine but Pakistan so I’ve visited the link she left and she was right. Darn, it is a honest mistake. Look at the picture above “Al Saba Persian Carpet” if you read those words what will come to your mind? Persian cuisine isn’t it? Most of the restaurant put their cuisine after its name…
not their interior decoration. Yes, it was funny when I review my photo taken inside the restaurant Pookie bear and Va maybe right it is really an Indian/Pakistan restaurant. Why? Darn maybe the “Persian carpet ” means with their carpet and  their interior design. Hahaha, a honest mistake isn’t it? Anyway I also don’t know how Persian interior design looks like, so I am lost. Mr. Google might help me.
I am thinking too maybe the owner just put “Persian” to attract customers because there are a lot of Indian/Pakistan restaurant around the vicinity which means there is a tough competition.
Anyway to be sure I searched about this restaurant online which I need to do first before blogging about it, right? Anyway here’s what I found, Al Saba means “Morning Light” and it is really an Indian/Pakistan Restaurant and it also has a carpet shop connected with the restaurant. Lol, that’s unique.  You can read more details here. I did not see the carpet shop.  What makes me wonder  why they put the name of the restaurant and the carpet shop together? Business strategy, isn’t it? Or the carpet shop named is “Al Saba Persian Carpet” and it is different from “Al Saba Restaurant”. Just kind of confusing if it was your first time to visit the place because “Al Saba with Persian Carpet” is more noticeable. And it is the same place as you can see at the above photo there’s another room but it has also table and chairs. All I can say I did not see a carpet shop. I’ll try to look again on Tuesday when I return to Seoul.

Thanks Va for being my critic, it thought me to be more careful even though this is just a personal blog. Hehe

Eating “Persian” err Indian/Pakistan Food in Seoul

We just arrived from Seoul today, we went to International Clinic in Itaewon to ask a prescription for Malaria which we need for our vacation in Bangladesh this Christmas. We had to wake up early again so we can make it into our appointment. I just had gimbap rolls in the terminal as my breakfast, we’re just on time with our appointment after the doctor gave us the prescription we needed we directly went to the pharmacy and walk towards the Persian Indian/Pakistan restaurant where we ate are our lunch. The restaurant opens at 11:30 AM but we are there ten minutes early, this is what we ate in Al Saba Restaurant.

Samosa – a stuffed pastry and a popular snack in South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Arabian Peninsula, the Mediterranean (Turkey), Southwest Asia, the Horn of Africa, North Africa and South Africa. It generally consists of a fried or baked triangular, semi-lunar or tetrahedral pastry shell with a savory filling, which may include spiced potatoes, onions, peas, coriander, and lentils, or ground beef or chicken. The size and shape of a samosa as well as the consistency of the pastry used can vary considerably, although it is mostly triangular. Samosas are often served with tamarind chutney or curd – Wikipedia

Vegetable Samosa
Mutton Karahi
Mutton Biryani
Tandoori Garlic Naan
My favorite drink, Lassi.

I did not ate all of my food so I have a take-out but my serving of samosa was eaten by Pookie bear so in all he has five samosa (lol) plus he ate all the rice I only got one spoon because he said it was his order and mine is the bread or the tandoori garlic naan. Anyway I will have a nice dinner later with my left over mutton karahi and I will not share it as well. Hehe, kiddo.

Eating Jajangmyun in Chinese Restaurant

Last night hubby reminded me we need to shop for our daily goods, I am the type of person who don’t want to get out the house without bathing first. So I have told him to let me shower first, to cut it short while I am wearing my flat sandals and looking for some shopping bags to carry  it is not free in the supermarket but he told not to carry anymore we’re just going to get it there after going to the bank. He also added he is thinking to dine outside, it seems my ears flapping. So I said that means I need to be beautiful (laughing).  Hubby said “I said I am thinking” to kill my excitement. Anyway I am not very extravagant or fashionable , I just wear a lip gloss that makes me beautiful. Hehehe

So we walked to the bank, which is a bit far because the branch near us is under renovation. After it, we walk along the street looking for a good restaurant. We’ve seen a Chinese restaurant but again kind of hesitated to get inside because of language barrier. So we decided to walk and look for another one. Then hubby is eying for a specific restaurant he said he saw it when arrived here from Seoul last weekend. I don’t have an idea what he is talking about, He said he saw some sushi there, we end up near the Kim’s Mart without finding the restaurant he wants. I have told him to walk back the bus station which he beg to disagree, I am having a hint that the restaurant he is looking is just there. I won by walking ahead of him, and guess what the restaurant he is looking was really there.

We didn’t end up having dinner there but instead to the Chinese restaurant we first found. Hubby was at ease when he saw the menu with an English translation, he told me black noodles ( Jajangmyun)is good which he first tasted last Friday when he had lunch with his old students. I am quite hesitated to have it because it might taste bitter because its black. (lol). I told him before we get inside I want rice, so when he asked me what I want I told him just like his order which is the black noodles.

But after a while he asked me if I don’t want a rice with chicken, thinking that he is going to order two dish for me I said yes I like it. To my dismay, he ordered one black noodles, one  fried rice with chicken, sweet and sour pork and the fried dumplings. Just one? That’s what I asked him when the server left after taking our order? He replied back that he thought I don’t like black noodles and what am I expecting two dish for me? Well that’s what I thought! Anyway the meal is awesome, I am just thankful that the fried rice tasted good so I did not have a tantrums for not having  a black noodles. Hubby was too kind to let me taste the black noodles anyway, which I enjoyed and keep asking for more (lol).

Black noodles or Jajangmyun is cooked with black bean paste. After dinner we shopped goodies.

Eating Japanese Food

It was hubby’s birthday last Thursday but we are not able to celebrate it by means of dining into a fine restaurant because his on diet during weekdays, and we are also attending gym until nine in the evening. Yesterday we celebrate his birthday by eating in a Japanese restaurant we both ordered a rice with mixed vegetables and raw fish, grilled fish and broiled eel. The owner was too kind to serve to pieces of sushi for us, free of charge.

The meal was so terrific, we both enjoyed it. Especially the raw fish dipping it into the wasabe ice cream with soy sauce, yummy!

Our stomach has still a space for dessert so we bought two box of donut to bring home.

Sweet Potato Pizza

We are now here in Icheon, no more Pizza Maru during weekends but there’s PIZZA SCHOOL in the main street. Nice name for a Pizza House right, maybe mostly they cater students that’s why it’s named Pizza School especially school is just few meters away.

I’ve tried a lot of pizza’s since I arrived here in Korea and I wanna explore more flavor, so for the first time I tried this SWEET POTATO PIZZA, I’ve only seen this here in Korea not sure in China but I think I have seen Sweet Potato Pizza too over there as well as KIMCHI PIZZA.
