This was my dinner the other night Kimchi Fried Rice. 🍚🌶️
It's been quite a while since I last made kimchi fried rice, so after preparing Pookie Bear's meal, I decided to make some for myself.
I also had some leftover sautéed squash with soy sauce from the previous day. There wasn't much left, so I thought I'd better finish it before it spoiled. Sometimes the simplest meals are the ones that work best when you're just cooking for yourself.
I didn't have anything fancy in the kitchen, but I had the basic ingredients I needed for a quick and tasty kimchi fried rice recipe.

Ingredients
- Cooked or steamed rice
- Kimchi
- Garlic, minced
- Onion, chopped
- Eggs
- Cooking oil
- Salt, to taste
How to Make Kimchi Fried Rice
-
Sauté the garlic and onion.
Heat a little oil in a pan, then sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant. -
Add the kimchi.
Add the kimchi and mix it with the garlic and onion. Cook for a few minutes so the flavors come together. -
Add the cooked rice.
Put the steamed rice into the pan and mix everything together. Break up any large clumps of rice as you stir. -
Add the eggs.
Add the eggs and continue stirring, just like you would when making regular fried rice. Cook until the eggs are done. -
Season with salt.
Taste and add a little salt if needed. Since kimchi can already be salty, I recommend adding the salt gradually. -
Serve hot.
That's it! A simple, filling kimchi fried rice is ready to enjoy.
My Simple Homemade Kimchi Fried Rice
This isn't a complicated recipe at all, but that's exactly what I like about it. It's quick, inexpensive, and a great way to use leftover rice and kimchi.
I especially like making fried rice when I have some leftover ingredients in the refrigerator. Instead of letting them go to waste, I can turn them into another meal.
And of course, kimchi makes almost everything better. 😋
