Learning to Let Go of One-Sided Friendships

I used to chase friendships. I used to be the one who reached out, checked in, made an effort, and tried to keep people close. But when I realized that I was the only one who truly cared, I stopped chasing.

People can do things for others that they can’t seem to do for me, and I’ve learned not to take that personally anymore. I simply choose to let people go.

I no longer force connections, beg for attention, or question my worth just because someone doesn’t value me the same way I value them. If the friendship is meant to be, it will never feel like I’m the only one fighting to keep it alive.

Sometimes, letting people go isn’t giving up. it’s choosing peace, self-respect, and knowing when to stop pouring from an empty cup.

I still care, but I’ve learned that caring doesn’t mean I have to keep chasing. Some people are meant to stay, while others are simply meant to be a lesson. And I’m finally okay with that. ❤️
