It’s a bird! No, it’s a plane!

Guess what? It’s a man-shape orifice hanging on top. This picture was taken last Saturday in N-Seoul Tower, hubby and I visited the tower first before going to the Lotus Lantern Festival. Actually he already visited the tower once but on my request to be at the tower too he brought me there.

For your information N Seoul Tower is a communication and observation tower located in Namsan Mountain, central Seoul, South Korea. It was built in 1969, and opened to the public in 1980, the tower has been a symbol of Seoul and measures 236.7 m (777 ft) in height (from the base) and tops out at 479.7 m (1,574 ft) above sea level. It has also been known as the Namsan Tower or Seoul Tower. After the tower’s original owner merged with the CJ Corporation, it was renamed the N Seoul Tower (official name CJ Seoul Tower).

As you can see the sky was so clear that day, can’t find any clouds.
This is my first entry for Skywatch Friday

Torn between roses

I am not too close with my cousins, they always bully me and I am a cry baby. We are totally different they are out-going and I am homebody. They’re girls and I am boyish, they know how to sing and I don’t know how, they love sports and sports don’t love me. They’re all volleyball player including my younger sister, my older cousin keep teasing me I am their muse, I still consider myself lucky because he called me as their muse and not their ball or water girl.
The photo below are my other cousins, they lived  in Cavite, we never grow together. There’s  a port between us (it means we need to cross sea in order to see each other). When we were younger we cannot find any similarity between us, but when we grow older I have notice  we have similarities in our looks as we have the same blood in one side.

This is my first entry for Shoot Me! It’s time to stop hiding behind that camera of yours. Your family is missing you in the picture. So it’s time to post a picture of YOU (yes, you) every Thursday with your child, your spouse, your friend, your dog, or even by yourself. Just get in the picture, you’ll be glad you did! And just jump in now with 1 of 52, you can do it!

My Baby

…photo. Haha, have you thought its my baby as in baby daughter? (Toinks!)  Sometimes I feel out of place in this blogging world because all of the bloggers I met were “Mommies“. Haist anyway this is the first day of Ate Rose Nostalgia Meme, so here is my entry photos I can never forget and sometimes I wish I can return in the past and save all my baby pictures (huhuhu). If time machine is real I will return to the time where my baby pictures we’re still alive.

Once upon a time I have a lot of baby pictures and pictures when I am already on age one and so on, but now they are all gone. I did not gave so much importance to them when I was a little kid, I played, cut, throw or whatsoever those pictures even my mother keeps telling me not to play with them. Before she keep it but as far as I remember I cried reasoning “they’re my pictures so why I don’t have a right to see them when  ever I want”. So the cut the story short she gave it to me, my mother removed them from an album because they’re misty, so they’re put in one small plastic all together, time came my mind is not in the pictures anymore so my mother decided to keep it in one place I could not reach, it is above our ceiling.

I completely forgot those pictures, then one time when I am already old I think I am on my high school I asked my mother where are my old pictures, I feel so sad and depressed upon hearing that those pictures where gone a long time ago. If you don’t know our old roof is made of “pawid” so when it rains outside it rains inside our house too. That made my old pictures wet then fade.

Regret is always late, if I just know how importance are my pictures. Maybe they’re still alive these days, the first picture above is from my Aunt photo album in Manila. I found it last year when I am working with my visa I showed it to my mother and she told it was me. The funny thing though I had ask her if she was sure it was me. How could be a mother be mistaken with her own child? That’s what I realized after asking, I omitted the picture in the album (lol). The second and last pictures where from my grandmother’s album in Tarlac, I have found them there, so I also omitted it but this time I ask permission. The cut photo was from the laminated photo on my grand mother’s wall, I removed it and change a grown-up picture of me.

Teacher’s Day

Last Friday our doorbell rings followed by a knock, I know its hubby because that was the time he was out for school, so I jokingly answered “open the door” but anyway I opened it and to my surprised I found hubby out of our door with his pouty mouth, carrying some box and small shopping bags. I think he is a little pissed off because I opened the door late on his expectations. I was startled where did he got those stuffs, so I had ask him and he replied me with a question.
Hmm…where do I think he got those stuffs. Director? Principal? Jade?  Yes from Jade (co-teacher) as he teased me, see this card with a sweet note. She gave it to me, of course I have to show some jealous mode. Eat all your food!

Anyway None of the above its from his students, because the following day (last Saturday) is teacher’s day here in Korea so students hand him some gifts.  The card was from his boy students attached from the face wash.We just finished eating those native delicacies as of today, because last weekend we are out of town. So nobody ate it.,

Students here are thoughtful huh? As far as I remember when I am still a pupil during Teacher’s day my classmates and I just make some corsage to pin to our favorite teacher. On my grade II I picked some gumamela flowers on our backyard and put it on my teacher’s table, in a base.

My Lantern from the festival

I am very tired last Saturday and Sunday my feet cannot support my body anymore (lol). While waiting for the grand parade of the Lotus Lanterns I sat on the street, then when they came click and click on my camera. As I am standing with other foreign spectators/audience a Korean woman came near me from the group of lantern holders she hand me her lantern and give me a tap on my shoulder, she is saying something in their language but the fact I cannot understand it I just said thank you in Korean language and smile. Lotus Lantern Festival

Happy Yellow Monday everyone, we just returned in time that I can post a blog. We went to Seoul this weekend for a short vacation and watch the Lotus Lantern Festival.  I was not able to get online in two days because the wi-fi service in the second floor of the hostel is not working, feeling so tired to go to the lobby to get online.
If you want to see more pictures of the lanterns visit The Traveler’s Journey

Air Siren wakes me up

OMG! I think I am being paranoid, early this morning  a loud sound  wake me up, it last for 10 minutes or less. I asked hubby what is it, he said it is an air siren and they play it once every month in a scheduled day.  I asked him  what if it was played not in scheduled day? Hubby says  I am going to be f**** off, because it means danger, Korea was attacked by an enemy. Oh, no and while typing this blog, whew I heard a lot of helicopters passing by our roof. Hope it is just a practice, I don’t want to be a prisoners of war here. Lol

Yellow is for Banana

I have been here in South Korea  for almost 11 moths going to be one year next month, and with that I never ate Filipino food since then, well I ate chicken adobo but for me it is not yet counted because the soy sauce and the taste don’t taste like the normal Filipino adobo (lol). The only thing I can eat here came from the Philippines is this banana (below),  it is from Del Monte Philippines. Actually I never know it, been eating the banana for months until I have picked the banana with a company logo and there I saw it.

I know you are wondering if there is  Filipino community here? When I attended a CFO seminar the interviewee told me about it but she never know what’s the address, she just told me that I a gonna reached it by subway. My cousin is working in Gumi and she told there’s Filipino food over there as well as my classmates in Daegu so I concluded Filipino community was there. I have read about Hyehwa but I was never interested about the place because I thought Hyehwa is in Daegu. Too damn lazy to look at the subway map.  (lol).
Anyway Hyehwa  is just in Seoul but it is now impossible for me to go there, we are not anymore in Seoul and even though we are there I cannot even go there every Sunday. As what hubby says if  someone cannot adapt in a certain country you cannot live anywhere, so if I cannot adapt here in Korea I can go home to Philippines (lol) well  little by little I am now adapted in Korean food  and I think when I went home to Philippines my tongue will feel new to the taste. lol
